Speakers

 

David Brienza is Professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh in the US with additional appointments in the Dept. of Bioengineering and the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine. He is Associate Dean for Technology and Innovation in the School. He is trained as an engineer and has considerable additional experience conducting clinical and preclinical research. Over the past 28 years, his research has been funded through grants from National Institutes of Health and other public and private foundations, and industry sources. The majority of this work has been focused on tissue integrity management. He has been an active member of the pressure injury community. He was first elected to the Board of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel Board (NPUAP) in 2001 and currently serving his 5th terms. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (AIMBE) and the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Association of North America (RESNA).
